INOCHI WORLD PROJECT is an international peace-education initiative that brings children from Japan, Switzerland, France and Germany together through music, film and dialogue. Born as a legacy of Expo 2025 Osaka–Kansai, the project gathers at Caux, Switzerland in July 2026 — by official invitation of the Caux Initiatives of Change Foundation.
万博に参加した国々が、万博後も国際協働による「いのち」を共有しあい、
「平和」を実現していくプロジェクト。

More than 200 children gathered on the stage of Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai.
Among them were children who could no longer attend school, and children living with serious illnesses.Together, we took a moment to reflect on something we rarely stop to consider in our daily lives: life itself—and what it truly means to be alive.Some were moved to tears.Carrying those feelings in their hearts, the children sang “INOCHI” — a song about life.
The emotion of that day is something we will never forget.Peace is not something that simply exists.It is created through the thoughts, actions, and care of each individual.This year, Caux celebrates its 80th anniversary.The generation that experienced war is gradually passing on, and it is the children who have never known war who will shape the future.Expo 2025, held in the year marking 80 years since the end of World War II, chose “Life” as its central theme.
To us, Inochi — Life — is a profound respect for all existence.
It connects people with one another, humanity with nature, and the visible world with the invisible.Now, we have been given the opportunity to carry this light from the Expo to Caux.
To Caux—the place where former enemies chose, perhaps for the first time, to sit together and begin a conversation.Eighty years after the war, as division and conflict once again spread across many parts of the world, children from Japan, Switzerland, France, and Germany will stand together on the same ground.We hope they will feel, with their own hearts, the spirit of this place where reconciliation took root and peace began to grow.And we hope that this encounter will remain within them as a small seed—one that may someday grow into a force that connects people and nations.We believe that hearts are not changed by power, but by compassion.That the world is transformed not through confrontation, but through dialogue.
And that the future is illuminated not by fear, but by respect for life.This journey has only just begun.We sincerely hope that you will walk alongside us.May the voices of these children cross borders and bring hope to people's hearts.May all children in the world be able to live in peace and dignity.And may the light of life that resides within each of us be passed on to future generations.With hope, gratitude, and prayer.

万博の舞台に、200人を超える子どもたちが集いました。その中には、学校に通えなくなった子も、難病を抱える子もいました。ふだんは立ち止まって考えることの少ない「いのち」、そして「生きるということ」を、みんなで一緒に感じあいました。中には、涙を流す人もいました。その想いを「いのち / INOCHI」に乗せて歌いました。あの時の感動を、私たちは二度と忘れることができません。平和は、当たり前に在るものではありません。一人ひとりの想いから創られていくものです。
今年、CAUXは設立80周年を迎えます。戦争を経験した人は少なくなり、戦争を知らない子どもたちが、これからの未来を創っていきます。日本が戦後80年を迎えた年に開かれた万博は、コアテーマに「いのち」を掲げました。
「いのち」とは、あらゆる存在への敬意であり、人と人を結び、自然と宇宙を結び、未来へと受け継がれていくものです。私たちは、この灯を万博からCAUXへ運ぶことになりました。かつての敵同士が、初めて「話すこと」を選んだ、CAUXという場所へ。終戦から80年。ふたたび分断が広がる世界で、日本・スイス・フランス・ドイツの子どもたちが同じ大地に立ち、「平和が生まれたこの場所」を、自分自身の心で感じてほしいのです。そして願わくば、この出会いが子どもたちの人生の中に小さな種として残り、いつの日か世界をつなぐ力となってほしい。私たちは信じています。人の心を変えるのは力ではなく、誰かを想う心であることを。世界を変えるのは対立ではなく、対話であることを。未来を照らすのは憎しみではなく、いのちへの敬意であることを。この旅は、まだ始まったばかりです。どうか、ご一緒に歩んでいただけたら。心からそう願っています。子どもたちの歌声が国境を越え、人々の心を結び、未来への希望となりますように。世界のすべての子どもたちが、平和の中で自分らしく生きることができますように。そして私たち一人ひとりの中にある「いのちの光」が、次の世代へ受け継がれていきますように。祈りを込めて。

This project finds its origin in "LIFE: Inochi with the Super Kids Orchestra," an official cooperation event of Expo 2025 Osaka, reaching ~6,000 participants. What began as a single stage has now come to live beyond the memory of the Expo — emerging as a guiding light toward international peace, in collaboration with the Caux Foundation and international NGO Initiatives of Change.

WHY CAUX？ | なぜ、この地なのか
This is not an event.
It is the continuation
of history.
Caux is the place where peace was born.
Eighty years ago, Germany and France — enemies who had gone to war again and again — sat across a table and chose to speak.
After Hiroshima and Nagasaki, a delegation from Japan came to this place. Watching former enemies in Europe choose reconciliation, they carried something home — a spirit that would echo in the vow later inscribed at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial: never to repeat the past.
This is not simply a beautiful place in the Swiss Alps. This is the ground where reconciliation actually happened.
This year, Caux celebrates its 80th anniversary. And for the first time, children will stand in that same place. In a world where wars still rage and division continues to grow —
What will they feel here? What words will they find?
Whatever they carry out of this place becomes a message to the future — spoken not by leaders, but by the children themselves.
We must create this moment for the future. That is why we are asking for your help.

80年前、ここでドイツとフランス。戦争を繰り返していたかつての敵同士が同じテーブルに座り、「話すこと」を選びました。
広島・長崎の惨禍ののち、日本からの訪問団もこの地を訪れました。かつての敵同士が和解を選ぶ姿をヨーロッパで目の当たりにした彼らは、その精神を故郷へ持ち帰りました。Cauxで見出したその想いは、やがて広島平和記念公園の慰霊碑に刻まれる誓い「過ちを二度と繰り返さないという誓い」へと響いていきます。
これはスイス・アルプスの美しい場所というだけではありません。平和に向けた「和解」が実際に起きた、その土地です。
今年80周年を迎えるCAUX。子どもたちがその同じ場所に立ちます。戦争が今も起こり、これから分断が進もうとしている中で彼らはここで、何を感じるのか。どんな言葉を見つけるのか。
この場所から子どもたちが持ち帰るものが、未来へのメッセージになります。指導者ではなく、子どもたち自身の言葉で。

What moves me most about the INOCHI collaboration is not only the beauty of what will happen on stage,
but the story it tells.
In 1950, only a few years after the devastation of war, Japanese visitors came to Caux seeking reconciliation and were welcomed with songs in their own language. Today, children and young people from Japan, France, Germany (tbc), and Switzerland gather here once again. Different histories, different cultures, different generations — yet the same longing for dignity, friendship and peace.
Born from the legacy of Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, the INOCHI WORLD PROJECT reminds us of the preciousness of life and of our responsibility towards one another and towards future generations. As we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Caux Foundation, my hope is that these young voices will touch our hearts and remind us that trust can always be rebuilt, that bridges can always be created, and that the future depends as much on the humanity of the next generation as on the decisions of today's leaders.

Ignacio Packer — Executive Director, Caux Initiatives of Change Foundation
Ignacio Packer is the Executive Director of the Caux Initiatives of Change Foundation in Switzerland, where he and his team create spaces for dialogue between people and institutions that do not always agree. Appointed in 2023, he brings more than thirty years of experience in humanitarian action, international development and human rights. Before joining Caux, he served as Executive Director of ICVA, the global network of humanitarian NGOs, and as Secretary General of the Terre des Hommes International Federation, alongside leadership and advisory roles with Médecins Sans Frontières and the Terre des Hommes Foundation.
Born in Germany, living in Switzerland, with roots in Wales and Spain, Ignacio often describes himself as a citizen of the world. His work is guided by a simple conviction: that listening matters as much as speaking, that trust takes time to build, and that lasting change often begins with small, personal steps. An enthusiastic ultra-trail runner, he sees endurance running as a school of patience and resilience.

Last year, at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, I experienced something truly unforgettable.A choir of nearly one hundred children and a full orchestra of young musicians came together to express the preciousness of life through music. Having served as Consul General of Germany in Osaka during the EXPO 2025 in Kansai I had the honor to get to know the INOCHI WORLD PROJECT and attend its impressive live performance on Yumeshima. By facilitating worldwide exchanges for the next generation, the INOCHI PROJECT is a perfect continuation of the overall theme of the EXPO: “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” Working in diplomacy and for the advancement of bilateral relations between Germany and Japan I am convinced that the investment in youth exchange is one of the most important tasks to build our future. By fostering this exchange, we do much more than simply share educational experiences. We cultivate empathy and tolerance. Children who interact with peers from diverse backgrounds from an early age, learn that despite different languages or customs, their perspective on the world and the future very often correspond. In 2021, through the Co-Creation Project of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, we had the opportunity to encounter the INOCHI WORLD PROJECT led by Masahiko and Sayaka Hashimoto. Through film and music, this project conveys the preciousness of life. Along its journey toward Expo 2025, it continued to grow through screenings and presentations, inspiring empathy and support from many people before culminating in its selection as an official program at the EXPO Hall of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. The true value of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai does not end with the closing of the Expo itself. Its real legacy lies in the spirit of co-creation and the new connections fostered through the Expo being carried forward into the future. It is deeply meaningful to see the INOCHI WORLD PROJECT expanding from the Expo to Caux, Switzerland, and now reaching out to the wider world. At a time when division and conflict continue to deepen around the globe, opportunities for children to respect one another's lives and connect across national and cultural boundaries are of profound importance. We sincerely hope that this new journey beginning in Caux will continue to spread throughout the world, and that Japan's long-cherished values of respecting life will be passed on to future generations. 2021年、大阪・関西万博の共創プロジェクトを通じて、橋本ご夫妻が取り組むINOCHI WORLD PROJECTに出会いました。映像と音楽を通じて「いのち」の尊さを伝えるこのプロジェクトは、万博に向けた歩みの中で、上映やプレゼンテーションを重ね、多くの共感を育みながら、大阪・関西万博EXPOホールでの公式プログラムとしての実施へと結実しました。大阪・関西万博の価値は、会期中だけで完結するものではありません。万博で育まれた共創の精神や新たな出会いが未来へ受け継がれてこそ、真のレガシーになると考えています。INOCHI WORLD PROJECTが万博を起点としてスイス・CAUXへとつながり、さらに世界へ広がろうとしていることを、大変意義深く感じています。分断や対立が深まる時代だからこそ、互いの「いのち」を尊重し、子どもたちが国境や文化を越えて心を通わせる機会には、大きな価値があります。CAUXから始まる新たな歩みが世界各地へと広がり、日本が大切に育んできた「いのち」を尊ぶ価値観が次世代へ受け継がれていくことを心より期待しています。大阪観光局としても、その歩みをこれからも応援してまいります。皆様の温かいご理解とご支援を心よりお願い申し上げます。

At the 80th Anniversary Ceremony of the Caux Foundation,
the INOCHI WORLD PROJECT will be officially presented as an international peace education program.
Together with children from Japan, Germany, France, and Switzerland,
we will deliver a message of life to the world.

An art-based program fostering inner transformation,
originally presented at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, will be presented in Caux, Switzerland.
Rooted in Japanese spiritual culture, this experience integrates music, film, and dialogue to awaken a deeper sense of life within individuals, cultivating the emotional foundation for peace.
万博で実施され、6,000人規模の共感と変容を生み出したアートプログラムが、スイス・Cauxへと展開されます。
日本の精神文化から生まれたこの体験は、音楽・映像・対話を通じて人々の内面に働きかけ、
「内的変容」を引き起こすことを目的としています。
本取り組みは、対話と和解の国際的拠点であるCauxにおいて、新たな平和のかたちを提示します。

International Partnerships
The INOCHI WORLD PROJECT is an international initiative that creates opportunities for learning, dialogue, and connection across borders through music, art, education, and cultural exchange.
The project is developed in collaboration with a diverse network of partners, including the Initiatives of Change Foundation, an international NGO network based in Caux, Switzerland,
as well as educational institutions, cultural organizations, businesses, and civic leaders.
We also share a common vision with the Inochi Forum, a legacy initiative of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. The Inochi Forum was established by leading economic organizations in the Kansai region together with national universities in Japan to foster dialogue, co-creation, and human-centered innovation for future generations.
We welcome partnerships with companies, foundations, educational institutions, municipalities, and organizations committed to international cultural exchange, education, leadership development, regional revitalization, and positive social impact.
Together, we are building a global network that empowers future generations and promotes mutual understanding, collaboration, and a more sustainable future.

A Journey to the Summit — by Mountain Railway
登山鉄道で、山頂へ。子どもたちへの特別な贈り物。
As part of the Caux 80th Anniversary programme, Montreux Oberland Bernois Railway (MOB) generously hosted a Special Excursion Program for the children and international participants of the INOCHI WORLD PROJECT.
Travelling together through the Swiss Alps to Rochers-de-Naye, participants experienced the beauty of nature, shared conversations across cultures, and concluded the journey by singing together on the mountaintop.
More than an excursion, it became an educational experience where nature, culture, and human connection came together to deepen the spirit of peace.
Building on this successful collaboration, Feel & Sense and MOB look forward to exploring future opportunities to develop this programme as part of an international peace education initiative.
CAUX80周年記念プログラムの一環として、MOB（モントルー・オーベルラン・ベルノワ鉄道）は、INOCHI WORLD PROJECTに参加した子どもたちと国際参加者のためにスペシャル・エクスカーション・プログラムを提供してくださいました。
参加者はロシェ・ド・ネイ山頂までの旅をともにし、スイスの雄大な自然に触れながら、国境や文化を越えて交流を深め、最後には山頂で平和への願いを込めて歌を届けました。
この体験は単なる観光ではなく、自然・文化・芸術・対話が一つになった平和教育プログラムとなりました。
今回の成功を礎に、Feel & SenseとMOBは、この取り組みを国際平和教育プログラムとしてさらに発展させていく可能性をともに探っていきます。

いのち会議
Dialogue Beyond Borders
対話が、人と人をつなぎ、平和への道をひらく。
Following the screening of a historical film tracing the connections between Caux, Japan, Germany, and France, and the immersive film experience LIFE®︎ INOCHI, an International Dialogue was facilitated by the INOCHI FORUM.
The dialogue was led by Professor Takumi Doi, Chair of the INOCHI FORUM and Professor Emeritus at Osaka University, together with Etsuko Takeichi and Naoko Dome. They created a welcoming space where participants of different cultures, generations, and backgrounds could openly share their reflections and hopes for peace inspired by the artistic experience.
By listening deeply to the voices of children and adults alike, the dialogue transformed the emotions awakened through art into mutual understanding. This process has become one of the essential pillars of the peace education envisioned by the INOCHI WORLD PROJECT.
CAUXと日本、ドイツ、フランスの歴史を振り返る映像、そして「いのち」を体感する映像作品『LIFE®︎いのち』の上映後、いのち会議（INOCHI FORUM）による国際対話が行われました。
いのち会議理事長・大阪大学名誉教授 堂目卓生氏 をはじめ、武市悦子氏、堂目直子氏 がファシリテーターを務め、国や文化、世代を超えた参加者一人ひとりが、芸術を通して感じたことや平和への想いを安心して語り合える対話の場を創り上げてくださいました。
子どもたちをはじめ、参加者一人ひとりの心の声に耳を傾け、互いの想いを受け止め合うこの対話は、芸術によって生まれた感動を相互理解へとつなぎ、INOCHI WORLD PROJECT が目指す「平和教育」の重要な柱となりました。
This project builds upon an art-based program originally presented at Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai and expands it to Caux—a place internationally recognized for dialogue and reconciliation.
This initiative is co-created by the Caux Foundation, Feel&Sense, and Inochi Forum.
Together, we seek to bring to the world an experience of inner transformation centered on the theme of “life.”
Rather than relying on a single funding source, this project is designed as a co-creative initiative—built in collaboration with individuals and organizations who share this vision.
We believe that peace cannot be realized solely through systems or structures,
but begins with an awakening within each individual—a sensitivity to life that arises from within.
This journey has only just begun.
